Cyber Security Analyst

Location: Any office (UK)

Are you the person who notices the small things that others miss? The detail that doesn’t quite add up. The unusual pattern. The quiet warning sign hiding in logs. If that sounds like you, we’d love to speak with you.

At Air IT Group, technology should feel straightforward, secure, and genuinely stress-free for modern businesses. We’re one of the UK’s leading Managed Service Providers, delivering Managed IT, Cyber Security, Cloud, Microsoft Solutions, AI and Automation services that help organisations work smarter and grow with confidence.

In this Cyber Security Analyst role, you’ll help protect our customers and their data—by combining technical depth with practical, customer-focused thinking. You won’t just “monitor and report”; you’ll investigate, improve, and help shape security outcomes that make a real difference.

What you’ll do

This is a hands-on security position where your curiosity, judgement and methodical approach matter. You’ll be involved in day-to-day security operations as well as continuous improvement—so you can keep learning while raising the bar for security across the environments we support.

Security Monitoring & Incident Support

  • Monitor security alerts and events, investigating potential threats with a clear, structured approach.
  • Support incident triage and response activities, escalating appropriately and helping drive timely resolution.
  • Validate alerts through evidence gathering and correlation, reducing false positives and improving confidence.

Threat Detection, Analysis & Security Assurance

  • Review logs, network activity, endpoint signals and system telemetry to identify suspicious behaviour.
  • Contribute to detection engineering activities, tuning alerts and improving detection coverage where possible.
  • Support vulnerability and control assurance activities, helping teams understand risk and prioritise remediation.

Documentation, Reporting & Clear Communication

  • Produce accurate, timely documentation—incident notes, investigation findings and evidence trails.
  • Translate technical findings into practical next steps for internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Maintain runbooks, procedures and knowledge articles to keep our response and monitoring effective.

Continuous Improvement

  • Proactively identify improvements across processes, tooling and security controls.
  • Collaborate with wider teams to share learnings, improve response quality and raise security maturity.
  • Stay current with evolving threats and trends, bringing ideas that help strengthen how we defend.

What we’re looking for

We’re interested in people who care about doing security properly—evidence-based, thoughtful, and grounded in best practice. You don’t need to know every tool from day one, but you should be comfortable learning quickly and applying knowledge in real-world scenarios.

Essential

  • A solid understanding of cyber security fundamentals, including common attack types and defensive controls.
  • Practical experience investigating security alerts, working with logs and producing clear investigation outcomes.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritise effectively under time pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills—able to explain technical information in a way others can act on.
  • A collaborative mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Desirable

  • Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) and/or Security Operations tools.
  • Exposure to incident response processes, triage and remediation coordination.
  • Working knowledge of endpoint security, vulnerability management and/or identity-based security concepts.
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications (for example, Security+, CySA+, or vendor/security operations certifications).

Why this role is for you

If you want a security career where your work has a visible impact, this is your opening. You’ll be building capability, sharpening your investigation skills, and helping to strengthen security outcomes across the organisations we support.

And because Air is built around people, you’ll have space to learn, ask questions and develop. You’ll be encouraged to share ideas and improve the way things are done—whether you’re tuning alerts, creating documentation, or recommending smarter controls.
