Technical Consultant (Cyber Specialist)

Location: Any office (UK)  |  Department: Sales  |  Type: Full-time

If you love turning complex technology challenges into practical outcomes for customers, this role is for you. As a Technical Consultant, you’ll help shape how customers design, secure, deploy, and continuously improve their IT environments—so they can focus on running their business, not firefighting technical issues.

You’ll join a team of technical specialists who take pride in doing things properly: structured discovery, clear recommendations, resilient architectures, and security that’s built in from day one. You’ll bring technical depth, but your real impact will come from how you translate that expertise into solutions that customers can trust.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you’ll work across a broad range of customer projects and service requirements. Your work will often start with listening: understanding business goals, risk appetite, current systems, and how people actually work day-to-day. From there, you’ll design and implement solutions with an emphasis on security, reliability, and long-term maintainability.

Consulting & solution design

  • Lead technical discovery workshops and translate findings into clear solution recommendations
  • Design secure infrastructure and modern workplace solutions aligned to best practice
  • Support cloud and Microsoft solution projects, ensuring they’re scalable, governed, and resilient
  • Create and maintain technical documentation that’s usable—by both engineers and customers

Implementation & continuous improvement

  • Hands-on support during deployments and migrations—supporting smooth change with minimal disruption
  • Validate configuration and operational readiness, including monitoring, backup, and recovery considerations
  • Drive improvements to customer environments using automation, best-practice patterns, and measurable outcomes
  • Contribute to playbooks, standards, and repeatable solutions so delivery becomes more efficient over time

Cyber security mindset

  • Promote secure-by-design approaches across IT estate planning and solution delivery
  • Identify control gaps and recommend practical security improvements that balance risk and usability
  • Support governance activities such as access controls, identity hygiene, and endpoint protection considerations

Customer communication (without the jargon)

  • Explain technical decisions clearly—so customers understand the “what”, the “why”, and the “what next”
  • Build trust through structured updates, realistic timelines, and thoughtful risk discussions

What we’re looking for

You don’t need to be a superhero, but you do need to be someone who enjoys solving real-world problems and takes pride in doing things properly. We’re particularly interested in candidates who combine technical confidence with clear communication.

You’ll likely bring experience in some (or all) of the following:

  • Microsoft technologies (e.g., identity, productivity, and modern workplace components)
  • Cloud platforms and services, with an understanding of governance and security considerations
  • Networking fundamentals (routing, switching, DNS/DHCP concepts, VPN principles)
  • Security fundamentals and practical risk assessment approaches
  • Automation mindset (scripts, repeatable processes, or integrating tooling to reduce manual effort)

If you’re still building your technical breadth, that’s absolutely okay. What matters most is your approach: curiosity, ownership, and a willingness to keep learning—especially when requirements change or customers need a solution tailored to their environment.

Why this role feels different

You won’t just deliver tickets or complete tasks in isolation. This is consulting work with a hands-on edge. You’ll be encouraged to work end-to-end: from discovery to design, from implementation to operational readiness, and from recommendations to measurable improvement.

You’ll also be part of a supportive technical community where knowledge-sharing is normal and where good practice is reinforced—so you’re not expected to figure everything out alone.
