Job Title: PMO Manager 

Location: Milton Keynes 

Reporting to: Head of Technical Services 

Purpose:  

Lead a team of Project Coordinators & Project Managers to plan, schedule and deliver IT projects, working directly with the technical delivery team, ensuring end-to-end project delivery.  Previous management experience is not essential, but we are looking for the successful candidate to grow, with support, into a PMO Manager role 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the Project Management team providing guidance, training, and support to project managers and other team members. 
  • Oversee the management of a portfolio of projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. 
  • Work to develop the existing PMO framework, managing all projects to a high standard 
  • Deliver multiple projects concurrently against the agreed strategy and plan  
  • Plan and schedule assigned projects  
  • Manage budgets effectively using a high level of commercial awareness 
  • Proactively manage potential risks and changes to avoid negative impact 
  • Accurately report and communicate throughout the project timelines, monitor progress against plan and recommend corrective actions if necessary 
  • Manage client expectations on costs and timelines 
  • Keep project management systems up to date with project progress and billing information 
  • Work with the Service Support teams to ensure successful handover at project completion 
  • Maintain information security by complying with the company’s Information Security Management System (ISMS) and all relevant policies   
  • Act as an escalation point for and project issues 
  • Prepare and present regular reports on project status, performance metrics, and other key indicators to senior management. 

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience: 

Essential: 

  • Minimum of 3 years of project management experience in IT project delivery 
  • Experience in managing multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment 
  • Demonstrable project planning skills 
  • Exceptional client communication skills and 3rd party management ability 
  • Effective communication skills and an ability to create strong relationships 
  • Excellent troubleshooting and issue management skills 
  • Excellent customer service ethos 

Desirable: 

  • Project management certification 
  • Experience working within an MSP environment 
  • Experience in managing IT Infrastructure and end-user device projects 
  • Experience in reporting key project metrics 
  • Experience in managing a team
